About Hosting 101
Hosting 101 exists because choosing a UK web host in 2026 is unnecessarily confusing. Headline prices are tiny. Renewal prices are huge. Comparison sites mostly show the first and skip the second. We do both.
What we do differently
Every host page on this site shows the intro price and the renewal price. Our renewal price comparison ranks hosts by how honest their pricing is over time. Our host finder lets you make "honest pricing" an actual priority. None of this is revolutionary — it's just what a buyer-friendly comparison site ought to look like, and we couldn't find one we were happy with, so we built it.
How we stay independent
We're not owned by any hosting company. We don't crown a single "best web host" because there isn't one — the right choice depends on what you're hosting, who your visitors are, and how much you'll manage yourself. Some links on the site are affiliate links and may earn a small commission if you sign up, at no extra cost to you. That's how we keep the site free. It has never decided a verdict, and where you see a host's downsides on this site, those are real.

How we keep it accurate
Hosting pricing changes with every promotion. Every page on this site shows when its details were last verified, and we re-check the most-trafficked entries regularly. If you spot a stale price, a feature that's changed, or a host we should add, we genuinely want to know.
